DISCUSSION: In the previous choices, only A (giving up) offered no valuable diagnostic solution to the problem. B looked at one major component, and was certainly one direction to consider, but, again, the solution to the problem was not very useful. Choices C and D also both looked to fundamental components as well, but they also followed through with likely solutions.
So, with what appears to be a non-working computer, there are at least three (3) points of failure that can be addressed immediately. Starting from the broadest concern first, we should determine if the computer is turned on. So, now the scenario below has another piece of information added.
