Building an Explanatory Video (September, 2012)
We will create a video with both live action and stop motion techniques that shows the proper procedures for leaving the lab during an emergency drill. The object will be to make a useful video that can instruct other students, and that can serve as a model for other classrooms to use for their own evacuation video demonstrations.
Part 1 - Preparing for the Shoot
NEW: Download and complete evacuation_video_summary.docx or .doc below, based on our classroom brainstorming. You are responsible for a drawn storyboard (simple) by next class. (I've also included a Celtx file beginning to tell the story. Use different views of the content to help work out the rest of the script.)
Part 2 - Filming the Action
Part 3 - Editing the Footage into a Final Product
Making the Final Product:
Instructions (see Alternate after Discussion):
Become good at putting things into categories:
Look for broad things in common
Should it have a different NAME?
